Former Olympian Yoel Romero got it done again tonight, and once again in devastating fashion. Romero finished Luke Rockhold with a brutal left hand in the third round of their main event tilt.
The interim middleweight championship was on the line only for Rockhold, as Romero missed weight, but it would seem he may be challenging for the championship next against undisputed champion Robert Whittaker, whom he has already faced.
In this bout, Rockhold started well, using his distance to land straight punches from the outside. In the first frame, Romero did a very good job of checking leg kicks, which seemed to hurt Rockhold’s leg.
