Sources confirmed with MMA Fighting’s Shaun Al-Shatti that a broken rib has forced Yancy Medeiros to withdraw from his welterweight bout with Perry scheduled for the preliminaries of the July 7 event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
MMAjunkie was first to report that Medeiros was injured, while ESPN reported the rib injury.
UFC officials are actively seeking a replacement to fight Perry.
Medeiros (15-5, 1 NC) was looking to bounce back from a first-round TKO loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC Austin, his first defeat since moving up to the welterweight division in September 2016.
