With only two weeks of preparation, Luiz Firmino showed he belonged among WSOF's top lightweights.
He stepped in on short notice for an injured Mike Ricci to fight top WSOF lightweight Caros Fodor. Fermino used his size advantage, combined with wrestling, to pin Fodor against the cage and control him on the ground throughout most of the fight. Fodor was superior on the feet, and landed many clean strikes, but it wasn't enough to earn him the victory as Firmino defeated Fodor via unanimous decision.
In the co-main event of the card, heavy-handed striker Teddy Holder, who knocked out former UFC fighter Thiago Silva at WSOF 19, battled against promotional newcomer Shamil Gamzatov.
