Neither Jon Fitch nor Yushin Okami has experienced the kind of success they expected inside the World Series of Fighting cage. Now, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship title challengers must contend with one another.
Fitch clocked in at 170 pounds ahead of his three-round welterweight clash with Okami (170) in the WSOF 24 main event on Saturday at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. The four participants in the two title fights booked underneath the headliner also met their contracted weight requirements at Friday’s official weigh-in, as Blagoy Ivanov (252) prepares to defend his heavyweight crown against Derrick Mehmen (237) and blue-chip Chechen prospect Magomed Bibulatov (124) meets Donavon Frelow (124) for the inaugural WSOF flyweight championship.
