World Series of Fighting had the novel idea of going up against UFC 190, so the big moments out of last night's show are going to be completely drowned in endless Ronda Rousey discussion. The biggest fight of the night was the main event between welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields, who planned to break Palhares' arm and had continually called him a "dirty fighter."
In a very competitive grappling battle, with Shields having the advantage in the opening two rounds, the first controversy arose from a series of warnings from referee Steve Mazzagatti -- right away an ominous sign something bad was going to happen -- to Palhares for eye-gouging and raking his fingers across Shields' face.
