World Series of Fighting postpones its first event of 2017

World Series of Fighting closed out 2016 in style, as their debut event in New York featured a thrilling main event between lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and Luiz Firmino. The New Year’s Eve card averaged 951,000 viewers on NBC, with a 1.3 million peak rating for Gaethje-Firmino, by far the best viewing figures in the promotion’s four-year history.

Of course, it should be noted that WSOF scrapped two events to pave the way for their NYC quadrupleheader of title fights, and now they’ve postponed their first show of 2017. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani has the details.
