Will Brooks Plans to Enter PFL $1 Million Tournament Following UFC Release

Things didn’t go as planned in the UFC for former Bellator MMA lightweight champion Will Brooks.

Brooks announced on Wednesday that he has been released by the Las Vegas-based promotion and will enter the Professional Fighters League tournament. The PFL is planning a regular season followed by playoffs and a championship in which fighters from six weight classes will vie for a championship and a $1 million prize. Brooks will likely compete at 155 pounds.

“For those of you who have been asking when my next fight is... well, I'm not sure when the next will be but it will not be with the UFC, but rather with the [PFL] in the Million Dollar tournament,” Brooks wrote on Instagram.
