Jorge Linares moved up to 140 pounds after Vasyl Lomachenko stopped him and took his WBA lightweight title. Unfortunately for Linares, his ability to deal with power punchers did not translate well to the new weight class, as he was dropped multiple times and ultimately stopped in the first round by Pablo Cesar Cano. Linares was a huge favorite in the fight, Cano had gone 3-3 in his last six fights, so getting destroyed the way he did was terrible for Linares, who had been angling for a rematch with Lomachenko at 135 while simultaneously fighting at 140.
