Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga was stopped in the second round this weekend by debuting Guatemalan fighter Lester Martinez. Now fighting at light heavyweight, the 45-year-old Mayorga has lost his last three fights in a row and has been stopped in four of his last five bouts.
Although this was his first professional fight, Martinez has a solid amateur background including a silver medal at the 2012 AIBA Youth games. Still, Mayorga has no business fighting any level of opponent at this point, especially considering how unseriously he took training in the past.
