Phil Davis was supposed to face King Mo in the Bellator light heavyweight tournament final last night. However, Mo would be unable to compete due to an injury suffered during his opening round bout against Linton Vassell earlier on in the night. Enter Francis Carmont.
Carmont was able to win his bout against Anthony Ruiz in the first bout of the evening making him the tournament alternate should a situation like this present itself. After submitting Emanuel Newton in his first bout, Davis earned his first KO finish since 2009. And he even got an unexpected belt for his troubles.
