M-1 Global announced Thursday the addition of Vyacheslav Vasilevsky to its M-1 Challenge 62 card, set to occur on Oct. 10 in Sochi, Russia. Vasilevsky, the promotion’s former middleweight champion, will square off against American Joe Ray.
Vasilevsky captured the M-1 Challenge 185-pound title by defeating Ramazan Emeev via fourth round stoppage last September. The Russian lost his crown in his first defense when he was submitted via rear-naked choke against Emeev in a highly-anticipated rematch.
A veteran of Strikeforce, Ray is coming off a unanimous decision win over Eric Michael Fought in June.
