Originially scheduled to headline UFC Chile on May 19th, Volkan Oezdemir and Shogun Rua will instead headline the UFC’s card in Hamburg, Germany on July 22nd.
Oezdemir was recently pulled from a fight with Rua in Chile as he was unable to leave the United States due to his arrest last November over felony charges.
After edging out a split decision over Ovince Saint-Preux in his UFC debut, Oezdemir (15-2) went on to score first round knockouts over Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa. He most recently fell short against Daniel Cormier at UFC 220, losing by second round TKO.
