Yushin Okami’s ONE Championship debut was one he’ll likely want to forget.
The 47-fight veteran was competing in the ONE ring for the first time on Saturday at an event in Jakarta, Indonesia, and his night ended early when opponent Kiamran Abbasov finished him with strikes in the second round of their middleweight contest.
Abbasov dropped Okami with a right hand before finishing with ground-and-pound 70 seconds into round 2. The 25-year-old Kyrgyzstan native improved to 2-1 in ONE and 21-4 as a pro. The win keeps him in line to potentially challenge ONE 185-pound champion Zebaztian Kadestam.
