The UFC’s 25th Anniversary Press Conference on Friday did not have either Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor in attendance, but by the end of the presser they had a surprise for us. UFC president Dana White turned everyone’s attention to a video package that revealed that, yes, it’s a done deal. Khabib will be fighting McGregor for Nurmagomedov’s lightweight title in the UFC 229 main event this October.
In the official promo, they use footage of McGregor’s attack on the UFC 223 fighter bus that led to him eventually pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, as he apparently was looking for Khabib after the Russian had a confrontation with Artem Lobov earlier that week.
