Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) suffered the first knockdown of his professional career, but in the 10th round of an incredible fight with Jorge Linares (44-4, 27 KOs), Lomachenko unleashed a serious combination of punches to Linares’ head, but it was a left to the liver that dropped Linares in dramatic fashion. Linares beat the count, but he was in bad shape, and the referee stopped the fight.
Lomachenko is the fastest in boxing history to win three world championships, doing so in just his 12th pro bout. He is the new WBA lightweight king, and it was simply an incredible match between two high-level boxers.
