Video: Terence Crawford throws punch at Jose Benavidez Jr during weigh-ins staredown

Pound-for-pound boxing standout Terence Crawford (33-0, 24 KOs) might be a huge favorite over fellow undefeated welterweight Jose Benavidez Jr (27-0, 18 KOs), but the WBO welterweight champion has been in an ongoing feud with the former amateur boxing prodigy for several months now, and things got really heated at Friday’s weigh-ins in Crawford’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

First off, neither man had difficulty on the scale, as both men came in at 145 pounds — Crawford slightly heavier at 145.4 lbs — making Saturday night’s Top Rank on ESPN event official. Then the staredown came and the fight just as easily could’ve fallen apart, as Benavidez shoved Crawford back, then Crawford tried to ice Jose with a right hand, but Benavidez was able to dodge it before authorities intervened.
