At just 20 years old, Honduran-American lightweight (135 lbs) Teofimo Lopez (10-0, 8 KOs) has quickly become one of the most intriguing young talents to watch in the world of boxing.
Named ESPN’s #2 prospect of 2017, Lopez grabbed co-main event honors on Saturday Night’s Top Rank card in New Orleans, Louisiana, as he took on Brazil’s William Silva (25-2, 14 KOs) in a considerable step up in competition, in addition to it being his first ten-rounder. Needless to say, Lopez passed his test with flying colors, knocking Silva down three times before the referee finally called it off in round 6.
