Emil Weber Meek shocked the mixed martial arts world Saturday night at Venator FC 3.
Meek, who many thought would be just another victim to Rousimar Palhares' leglock game, proved why MMA is an unpredictable sport. The Norwegian fighter stopped Palhares with a series of elbows and punches to the side of the head, as he defended Palhares' takedown attempt against the cage. The stoppage came at 0:45 of the first round. This was Palhares' first loss since his fight with Hector Lombard at UFC on FX 6 back in December 2012.
