Mirsad Bektic bounced back from his first pro loss in impressive fashion.
The 26-year-old featherweight finished Godofredo Pepey with a crackling shot to the body on the preliminary portion of UFC on FOX 27 in Charlotte, N.C. Bektic’s last three victories have all come by way of knockout or submission.
This was Bektic’s first fight since being on the wrong end of a memorable third-round comeback KO at the hands of Darren Elkins at UFC 209 last March. He made up for that letdown on Saturday, dropping Pepey with a right hand to the body and rushing in to finish with ground-and-pound at the 2:47 mark of Round 1.
