Known for his excellent ground game, Gilbert Burns showed everyone he’s got some pop on his feet too.
Burns spent much of his lightweight bout opposite Jason Saggo at UFC Pittsburgh trying to land a KO shot, and with just five seconds remaining in the second round, he connected with an overhand right that knocked Saggo out cold.
It was the first knockout win for “Durinho” in the UFC, and also the first time in Saggo’s eight-year career that he’s been finished with strikes.
Burns improved his Octagon record to 5-2, and he is now 13-2 overall as a professional.
