Dustin Poirier had the biggest win of his career a few weeks back at UFC 257. At that event ‘Diamond’ got revenge on Conor McGregor, a man who beat him way back in 2016. In their rematch Poirier battered McGregor’s lead leg before knocking the Irishman out in the second round.
The win has Poirier poised to challenge for the UFC’s lightweight title (or perhaps a fight with Nate Diaz). The promotion around Poirier vs. McGregor 2 wasn’t filled with the the kind of trash talk we saw six years ago. Instead of shouts of ‘peahead’ and ‘over-hyped’, both men talked up Poirier’s charity, The Good Fight Foundation, and his new hot sauce brand.
