“The Magic Man” defied the oddsmakers on Saturday, beating heavily favored Te Edwards by knockout on the Fight Pass preliminary portion of UFC Moncton. After nearly submitting Edwards with an armbar in round one, the South African fighter sealed the deal in round two with a thunderous head kick:
The win improved Madge’s record to 8-3, with all eight of his wins coming by way of knockout or submission. Post-fight, an excited Madge called for a $50,000 performance bonus.
Edwards, a recent Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series contract winner competing for the first time inside the Octagon, fell to 6-2 as a pro.
