The mixed martial arts (MMA) community was caught off guard last night (Sun., Jan. 8, 2017) when actress Meryl Streep took to the stage at the 74th annual Golden Globes Awards and stated that the sport is "not an art." While nobody should be moved by Streep's uneducated view on MMA, it's interesting to see how some people look at the sport. According to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White, Streep's outlook on MMA was to be expected.
"It's not going to be everybody's thing and the last thing in the world I expect is an uppity, 80-year-old lady to be in our demographic and love mixed martial arts," said White in a recent interview with TMZ Sports (shown above).
