Bryce Mitchell joined an exclusive club with his win on Saturday as he wrapped up only the second Twister submission in UFC history with his first round finish over Matt Sayles.
Mitchell joins “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung as the only fighters to pull off the Twister—a move created by Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Eddie Bravo—inside the UFC Octagon.
The end came after Mitchell put on a dominant display throughout the first round after taking Sayles to the ground and controlling him from there from start to finish.
With his legs locked into position on the mat, Mitchell saw the opening for the Twister as he put Sayles arm behind his head and then torqued the neck to cement the submission into place.
