Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko won’t have to wait long for her next title defense as she’s expected to face Joanne Calderwood at UFC 251 on June 6.
Multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting that verbal agreements were in place for the fight following an initial report from ESPN. As of now, the UFC hasn’t made any official announcements regarding the fight or the location for the pay-per-view card in June.
Following a lopsided TKO victory over Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 247, Shevchenko said she wanted to stay busy and face the next best contender in the division.
