Uzbek fighter dies three days after fight in MMA promotion owned by Ramzan Kadyrov

A mixed martial arts fighter from Uzbekistan has died a few days after competing on the Absolute Championships of Akhmat (AKA) event in Chechnya.

Bekzod Nurmatov, 27, competed on the ACA 100 show last weekend in a welterweight bout against Chechen fighter Beslan Isaev. The Uzbek fighter lost a close split decision and later suffered a stroke before being taken to hospital. He fell into a coma and died on Monday, October 7.

”Bekzod died on Monday. There was a stroke. He fell into a coma after the fight,” an unnamed source told tass.ru.

The ACA 100 event took place in Grozny, Chechnya and was attended by dictator Ramzan Kadyrov, the owner of the ACA MMA promotion.
