USADA releases statement on Lyman Good’s six-month suspension

The UFC welterweight tested positive for the banned substance 1-androstenedione last October, USADA announced Monday. As first reported by MMA Fighting on Saturday, Good received a six-month suspension due to the drug being ingested as part of a tainted product, per USADA’s investigative findings.

The ban is retroactive to Oct. 14, when Good was initially provisionally suspended, so he will be eligible to return to the Octagon later this month.

USADA said in a release that a dietary supplement Good was taking did not list any prohibited substances on the label, but after USADA tested said substance it came back positive for 1-androstenedione.
