This weekend UFC 229 came to a dramatic and controversial close after Khabib Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title by tapping Conor McGregor in the fourth round. However, the fight itself has largely been forgotten thanks to what happened immediately afterwards.
Once Herb Dean separated an irate Nurmagomedov from McGregor, the undefeated Dagestani yelled (and maybe spat) in McGregor’s direction. Nurmagomedov then threw his mouth piece in the direction of McGregor’s corner before jumping out of the cage to confront Dillon Danis.
As a brawl ensued outside the cage involving Nurmagomedov and his associates (including his co-manager Rizvan Magomedov) and members of McGregor’s corner, a brawl broke out inside the cage, too.
