UFC's Valentina Shevchenko unharmed, coach recovering after chaotic shootout

The UFC women's bantamweight contender was caught in the crossfire of a shootout during a robbery at a restaurant in Peru over the weekend, according to an initial report by Comercio. Her longtime coach Pavel Fedotov was shot by one of the robbers.

The aftermath, with Shevchenko rushing to Fedotov's aid, was caught on security cameras.

On Tuesday, Shevchenko's manager Roger Allen told MMA Fighting that Shevchenko was "fine" and unharmed in the incident. Fedotov is healing and is expected to make a full recovery, Allen said. Shevchenko's fight with Holly Holm in the main event of UFC on FOX 20 on July 23 in Chicago will not be affected by the unfortunate circumstances, he added.
