Top-ten welterweight contender Santiago Ponzinibbio will stop at nothing to become the UFC’s next 170-pound champion.
The Argentinian was originally expected to face Kamaru Usman last year, but was forced to pull out of the bout due to injury. Usman eventually went on to win the welterweight title in dominant fashion, battering former long-time champ Tyron Woodley earlier this month at UFC 235.
Ponzinibbio, who is on an impressive seven-fight win streak, can’t wait to get his hands on ‘Nigerian Nightmare.’ But before he gets the chance to fight for the title, the 32-year-old could cross paths with teammates Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington, who are both ranked higher than Ponzinibbio and feel they are deserving of the next title shot.
