UFC’s Ricardo Abreu suspended two years by USADA for positive steroid test

An Ultimate Fighter Brazil alum is the latest to be hit with a UFC anti-doping policy violation.

USADA suspended UFC middleweight Ricardo Abreu for two years after he tested positive for two steroid metabolites in an out-of-competition test, the UFC's anti-doping partner announced Friday. The sample was taken June 3. Abreu is not eligible to return to the Octagon until July 1, 2018.

Norandrosterone and noretiocholanolone were the two substances found in Abreu's system. Both are metabolites of the anabolic steroid nandrolone.

Abreu (5-1) has not fought since a loss to Jake Collier in June 2015.
