Longtime UFC lightweight Gleison Tibau has been provisionally suspended by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for potentially failing an out-of-competition drug test.
The UFC released a statement regarding Tibau’s suspension on Friday; USADA will determine a further course of action at a later date. The date of the drug test and the substance for which Tibau tested positive were not revealed. According to the statement, “additional information will be provided at the appropriate time in the process.”
Tibau last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Belfort vs. Henderson 3” in Sao Paulo on Nov. 7, when he submitted Abel Trujillo with a rear-naked choke 1:45 into round one.
