The recent struggles of UFC veteran Misha Cirkunov have prompted a weight class change.
On Tuesday the promotion revealed that the Canadian by way of Latvia is moving down from light heavyweight to middleweight for an October 2nd showdown with Poland’s Krzysztof Jotko. It’ll be Cirkunov’s first fight at the weight class in his entire MMA career.
Cirkunov (15-6) has lost four of his last six, including a 71-second TKO against Ryan Spann in March. His last seven fights have all ended in the opening round, but it’s been a bumpy ride since his impressive 4-0 start inside the Octagon.
