UFC veteran Gabriel Gonzaga set to make boxing debut in October

Another mixed martial artist is about to make his debut in the squared circle.

Former UFC heavyweight title contender Gabriel Gonzaga will put the boxing gloves on to compete at the New England’s Future 4 event in Worcester, Mass., on Oct. 28, the promotion announced.

According to BoxRec’s Grey Johnson, the Brazilian will debut in the sport against Alando Pugh, who holds a 1-10-1 record with nine knockout defeats.

“Napao” challenged Randy Couture for the UFC belt back in 2007 after scoring a big upset victory over Mirko Cro Cop, and retired from MMA after going 5-5 in his second run inside the Octagon.
