UFC Veteran Alan Belcher Retires From MMA

The UFC middleweight unceremoniously announced his retirement from mixed martial arts Friday in a Periscope video.

“I’m done fighting. I’m finished. I’ll never, ever fight again. This is my official retirement,” Belcher stated.

In the selfie video, which Belcher shot in front of an audience, the 31-year-old said his calling is to teach students and gym owners “to be better and effect more people.”

Belcher started his professional career back in 2004 and bounced around several small MMA organizations for two years before getting called up to the UFC. “The Talent” went 9-6 in the big leagues, with his best stretch coming between 2009-2012 where he won four straight.
