The Bellator heavyweight tournament may already be booked, with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson vs. Chael Sonnen slated to kick things off in January, but former UFC interim heavyweight champ Shane Carwin wants to let Scott Coker know that he is willing to come out of retirement to step in as a potential replacement.
Carwin, who officially announced his retirement from mixed martial arts in 2013, has reached out to Bellator in hopes of securing an alternate slot for the eight-man HW Grand Prix, per his Twitter account.
I emailed my friend @rich_chou a request to get on as an Alternate for this amazing @BellatorMMA tournament.
