Derrick Lewis added another incredible knockout to his resume, but his right hand paid the price for it.
Following his second-round KO of Curtis Blaydes in Saturday’s UFC Vegas 19 heavyweight main event, Lewis was diagnosed with injuries to his right hand and wrist according to an official list of medical suspensions from mixedmartialarts.com. The event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas was overseen by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
Lewis requires an X-ray on his right hand and wrist. If positive, Lewis must receive clearance from an orthopedic doctor or potentially be out of action until Aug.
