UFC Vegas 18 loses main card fight hours before event

The all too familiar feeling of a fight day cancellation has hit UFC Vegas 18.

UFC officials announced just hours before the start of Saturday’s card that a main card bout between Cody Stamann and Askar Askar has been nixed. Askar was not medically cleared to compete and since he’s been pulled, Stamann obviously has no time for a replacement opponent. Stamann was originally supposed to face Merab Dvalishvili, then Andre Ewell, and now he gets no fight at all.

Earlier this week, Macy Chiasson vs. Marion Reneau was postponed to February 27th after Reneau tested positive for COVID-19.
