Michel Pereira will have to give up a percentage of his purse after failing to make the welterweight limit for his fight against Tristan Connelly at UFC Fight Night in Vancouver.
The Brazilian fighter, who earned a highlight reel knockout over Danny Roberts in his Octagon debut, came in at 172 pounds — one pound over the welterweight limit for a non-title fight.
While there was some chatter that perhaps Pereira would get a second attempt to make weight per the rules of the BC Athletic Commission in Canada, he ultimately remained at 172 pounds and did not undergo any further weight cutting.
