UFC responds to creation of MMA Athletes Association

Yesterday, the MMA Athletes Association made a big splash with their first star-studded press conference. Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre joined Tim Kennedy, T.J. Dillashaw, Donald Cerrone, Cain Velasquez, and former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney to announce their intention to bring UFC fighters together into an association in a two-hour Q&A.

MMA Fighting asked the UFC for a response to the ideas that were expressed on the conference call, and an unnamed official had this to say:

"We respect all of our athletes and are always open and willing to hear their thoughts on how to improve the sport.
