Earlier today, Darren Till stirred the pot on social media by claiming that interim welterweight champion Colby Covington was ‘out’ of his anticipated title unification bout with Tyron Woodley.
Not many fans knew what to make of Till’s statement, but ESPN’s Ariel Helwani has reported that the UFC is, in fact, looking to strip Covington of the interim title and book Woodley vs. Till instead.
According to ESPN, Ultimate Fighting Championship was originally interested in booking Woodley vs. Covington as the headlining bout for UFC 228 on September 8, but ‘Chaos’ wanted the date pushed backed.
