The 30-year-old featherweight, who joined the promotion through the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil in 2012, has parted ways with the company after his contract expired following his loss to Mirsad Bektic in January, MMA Fighting has learned.
Pepey (13-6) went 5-6 in less than six years as a UFC fighter, and leaves the promotion on a two-fight losing skid to Bektic and Shane Burgos. Pepey scored some impressive finishes in the UFC, pocketing three straight “Performance of the Night” bonuses with the stoppages of Noad Lahat, Dashon Johnson and Andre Fili.
