Joaquim Silva came into his UFC on FOX 31 lightweight matchup with Jared Gordon with eight first-round finishes to his credit.
This time, it took the Curitiba, Brazil native nearly 13 minutes, but it was his most memorable finish to date.
Silva and Gordon engaged in a back-and-forth scrap that rocked the house at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum before Silva got the nod, earning the knockout victory at 2:39 of the final round.
“It’s been awhile since I’ve fought,” Silva (11-1) said through an interpreter. “I had a tough time in the first round but I hung in and I managed to win.
