UFC on FOX 29 medical suspensions: Dustin Poirier, five others get potential six-month suspensions

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier headlined a list of six fighters to be issued potential six-month medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC on FOX 29. The Arizona Boxing & MMA Commission released the event’s finalized medical suspension report Thursday.

Dustin defeated former WSOF champion Justin Gaethje via fourth-round TKO in a Fight of the Year frontrunner in main event of UFC on FOX 29. As a result of potential damage sustained in the contest, Poirier will be forced to seek doctor’s clearance as well as get an MRI done on his knee or sit out 180 days before returning to active competition, per commission officials.
