It seemed curious how Alex Oliveira was laughing and smiling throughout his UFC on FOX 25 bout with Ryan LaFlare. Especially after Oliveira handily lost their first round of their welterweight matchup.
Turns out he seemed to know something the rest of us didn’t. Oliveira baited LaFlare into charging right into a perfectly timed uppercut, ending Saturday night’s bout at Nassau Coliseum via knockout at the 1:50 mark of the second round.
LaFlare, a Long Island native competing on his home turf, had the crowd behind him as he cruised through the first round.
