Top UFC middleweights were on display on the UFC on FOX 24 main card, as the #3 ranked Ronaldo Souza was stopped in the second round with strikes by the #6 ranked Robert Whittaker.
Jacare Souza was able to close the distance in about 1:30 into the bout, and was relentless with his takedown attempt. Once on the ground, Whittaker remained calm, and managed to scramble back up to his feet, where he was able to keep his distance and land his punches.
Whittaker wasted no time in dropping Jacare with a right hand, but intelligently allowed his opponent to return to his feet.
