Alistair Overeem was the top earner at UFC on Fox 17 this past Saturday, as the Dutch heavyweight pocketed $542,857 for his second-round stoppage of Junior dos Santos ($400,000) in the co-main event.
The Florida State Boxing Commission recently released salaries from Saturday’s card, which took place at the Amway Center in Orlando. Overeem, whose UFC contract expired following the victory, dropped dos Santos with a massive left hook and finished the victory with follow-up hammerfists 4:43 into round two for his third straight triumph.
Elsewhere, reigning lightweight king Rafael dos Anjos garnered $300,000 for his 66-second demolition of Donald Cerrone ($79,000) in the evening’s headliner, while Nate Diaz took home $40,000 for his decision triumph over Michael Johnson ($30,000) in a featured 155-pound contest.
