CHICAGO -- For five minutes, Tom Lawlor simply looked like a fighter who had been out of the cage for more than two years.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he was a winner.
Lawlor dropped a charging Gian Villante with a crisp straight right hook to the jaw on Saturday night, putting a quick and surprising to their UFC on FOX 16 light heavyweight bout at United Center. The time of the stoppage on the knockout was the 27-second mark of the second round.
Lawlor (10-5, 1 NC), who was known as much for his zany walkouts as his action in the cage over the years, said he's getting series as he hits his mid-30s.
