Tyron Woodley didn’t get the victory at UFC on ESPN 9, but he was the highest-paid fighter on the card.
Woodley, a former UFC champion, earned $200,000 in a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns ($168,000) in Saturday’s welterweight headliner at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission released salaries from the event on Monday.
Two other fighters from Saturday’s card garnered six-figure paydays: Augusto Sakai ($100,000), who captured a split verdict against Blagoy Ivanov ($60,000) in a heavyweight contest, and former flyweight title challenger Katlyn Chookagian ($124,000), who scored a dominant decision triumph over Antonina Shevchenko ($35,000) in a preliminary affair.
