Even a weight-cut miss putting a damper on his weekend, Deiveson Figueiredo still walked out a big winner at UFC Norfolk.
Not only did he defeat Joseph Benavidez in Saturday’s flyweight main event, but the Brazilian was one of three fighters to record a six-figure salary for their efforts. The other two were Benavidez and veteran heavyweight Marcin Tybura.
MMA Fighting confirmed the salaries with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation on Tuesday.
Due to Figueiredo failing to weigh-in at the 125-pound championship limit, 30 percent of his $100,000 show purse went to Benavidez.
